This pair of Ray Ban Sunglasses came cracked right down the middle. The lab inserted a metallic pin in between the disconnected units and performed a standard weld to merge the break line. The sunglasses were repaired and the customer was able to continue to wear them.
The most common problem in plastic glasses is that one or both of the temples become displaced. A standard weld was performed in the area of the hinge. The hinge is set into the breakage point with precision. The welded portion was positioned properly to close in and out.
Sometimes the hinge breaks off completely and is lost forever. For this repair since the Prada SPS52E sunglasses were still in production. Our lab ordered a brand new temple for the customer. Two screws and five minutes later, the problem was solve since the temple was still available to order.
